I’m currently attending the University of San Francisco as a third-year pre-medical Kinesiology major with a minor in Neuroscience. I plan to go into geriatric sports medical research within the field of neuroscience—specifically related to the study of neuromuscular pathways in patients dealing with neurodegenerative diseases.
I come from a rich background in diversity and culture as a first-generation Brazilian-American with a passion for people and a burden to serve. I am accredited as a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine with additional certifications in CPR and AED, TRX suspension training, percussive therapy, responsible conduct of research training, and other coaching certifications. I also coach high school baseball and offer programming and coaching for youth athletes as well as seniors.
I’m looking to train older adults and seniors who are interested in exercise for building muscle, increasing joint stability, and overall balance, mobility, and agility. Resistance training has been shown to yield positive effects on self-reported physical function and activities of daily living in older adults with osteopenia or osteoporosis (Wilhelm et al., 2013) and improve bone mineral density (BMD) in older adults, particularly when performed at moderate to high intensity levels (Zhao et al., 2022). Another meta-analysis specifically on older adults documented RT benefits in BMD, cardiovascular and metabolic health (lipids, glycemic control, body composition), and importantly, psychosocial outcomes—reducing stress, depression, anxiety, and fatigue, thus enhancing health‑related quality of life (Hart & Buck, 2019). Finally, well-structured resistance training programs have been shown to prevent falls among older adults by enhancing strength, balance, and functional stability (da Silva et al., 2022).
I formulate programs through specific assessments to understand your cardiovascular capacity, anatomy, posture, balance, and muscle relationships. From there, we build a strong foundation through the four key movements — push, pull, squat, and hinge — progressing with proper periodization from phase 1–Stabilization to Phase 5–Maximal Power.
I place a strong emphasis on balance, mobility, and flexibility at every stage. This ensures you can move freely and confidently, even while building strength. Beyond training, I offer percussion therapy as well as personalized nutrition guidance that supports your unique needs — from managing health conditions to achieving weight loss, muscle gain, or working around dietary restrictions.
My Philosophy: Fitness, Health, and Faith
I believe that our bodies are temples — fearfully and wonderfully made — and that caring for our health is critical. By strengthening our bodies, improving our well-being, and extending the years we can live fully, we are better equipped to serve, love, and enjoy the life God has given us.In my coaching, I am constantly learning and improving as I lean not on my own understanding but trust in the Lord with all my heart (Proverbs 3:5). My mission is to serve you with that same spirit — helping you reach your health and fitness goals so you can live with strength, confidence, and purpose.
With nutrition guidance, meal plans, and and the right approach with exercise, we will take a holistic approach toward your weight loss goal by improving your basal metabolic rate, digestive power, and your activities of daily living in order to foster a sustainable and healthy weight loss journey that will last for the rest of your life.
With highly specific programming built around your capacity, schedule, and progress, we will focus on progressively getting stronger over time while supplying your body with the right nutrients to grow, sculpt, and define those awesome muscles. Taking a phased approach, we will start by learning how to squat, hinge, press, and pull while strengthening your core. From there we increase muscle endurance and work toward continuous muscle growth and strength improvement.
For goals pertaining to a higher quality of movement, or a mix of weight loss and muscle gain for an overall more defined and athletic physique, we will improve your strength to size with a specific nutrition plan and a training program tailored around your genetics, experience, while utilizing periodization to ensure an elite strength to size ratio.
